Quarterly Recap
Last Thursday Summer Concert Series
This summer, the Venice Beach BID, alongside Councilwoman Traci Park’s office, LA City Recreation & Parks, Venice Paparazzi, and our vibrant community, brought park area surrounding the Dudley Pagodas to life with the Last Thursday Summer Concert Series. Local bands like Horny Toad, The Brobots, Tide Eye and Truck Box took the stage on the last Thursday each month throughout the Summer, culminating in a fantastic final concert on September 26th.
The series attracted a diverse crowd of locals, visitors, and tourists who gathered to enjoy the sunset and music. After the performances, the festivities continued at The Waterfront, The Rose Room, Fig Tree, Venice Beach Bar & Kitchen, and Gingerbread Court where live music carried on into the night.
A big thank you to the organizers, performers, and everyone who came out to celebrate. Venice thrives on community, and your support made this event a resounding success!

Visionary Charrette with Cal Poly Pomona Landscape Architecture Students
For a week in September, the VB BID collaborated with community members and CD11 to host Cal Poly Pomona landscape architecture students as they embarked on a semester long project to envision a holistic and unified future for Ocean Front Walk in Venice. The week culminated in a design charrette, where the students met with key community stakeholders, including representatives from LA Recreation & Parks and Councilwoman Traci Park’s office, to gather insights for their designs.
During the students toured various parts of Ocean Front Walk and surrounding areas, learning about the local ecosystem, challenges, and community needs. Using this information, they will develop conceptual designs that capture Ocean Front Walk’s unique character while reflecting diverse community perspectives.
This collaboration not only provided the students with invaluable real-world experience but also helped the VB BID and local partners better understand what a cohesive future for the boardwalk could look like. We can’t wait to see their work evolve and inspire future conversations.
Beautification Projects
Elevating Venice’s Beauty: Focused Graffiti Removal, Weed Abatement & Pagoda Refreshes
While daily cleaning and maintenance are a core part of VB BID’s commitment to a welcoming Venice Beach, we’re excited to introduce a new level of focused beautification projects led by our Clean Team, aimed at creating an even greater visual impact. Starting this October, to enhance the look and feel of our vibrant community, a coordinated effort of additional Clean Team members have been carrying out bi-weekly pressure washing of the beloved Pagodas on the boardwalk, more detailed graffiti and sticker removal, and targeted weed abatement throughout the District.
These dedicated efforts go beyond routine care, allowing us to take a closer look at problem areas and restore them to their full potential. We’re proud to see Venice Beach shine a little brighter every day, and we look forward to making a visible difference that benefits residents and visitors alike.
