Highlight:
Initial analysis shows that the amount of trash collected in 2020 increased by about 20%, and that the addition of the 40-yard dumpster allowed the BID to increase bulky item pickup by about 36% from 2019.
The BID’s most notable initiatives in 2020 have been the addition of:
- A new Engagement Team that was piloted on Ocean Front Walk to strategically build relationships with businesses and people experiencing homelessness in an effort to provide immediate clean services and gain more compliance and cooperation.
- An increase in our capacity to remove trash and abandoned bulky items with a new 40-yard dumpster.
- A new dedicated graffiti removal team operating five days per week to respond to graffiti tags more quickly.
These initiatives have set this past year apart, allowing the BID to deepen the relationships it builds with the community and institutional partners and improvements to the community experience in the district.
